Welcome to Windover in Abaco!
"Slow down, you're in Hopetown"! That is the mantra that awaits you as you enter the harbor. Hopetown is a lovely historic retreat, where islanders and guests mingle together at a slower pace of life.
Founded in 1785, Hopetown is clearly the most scenic settlement in the Bahamas. The harbour and its famous lighthouse, which must be toured, are stunningly beautiful. The quaint, vibrant-colored houses reflect simpler days. Motorized vehicles are restricted from town, so the streets are quiet and a pleasure to walk. There are excellent restaurants, grocery stores, liquor stores, a museum, and interesting gift shops.
A visit to this island is unlike any other perception or past trip that you've had to the Bahamas. Although their main industry is tourism, you will not experience any large destination resort high-rises, motorized traffic is limited, and the town's people make you feel like a local the minute you set foot in town!
The house is within a few minutes to either the Atlantic Ocean for surfing or boogie boarding on the Sea of Abaco, which is excellent for small children who aren’t ready for the waves! Hope Town is within walking distance but renting a golf cart is recommended.
Please take a moment to peruse our site and to familiar yourself with our wonderful vacation retreat. You will find plenty of information on the island, vacation activities and schedule availability for our home. Of course, if you have any questions regarding the house, please
